Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are an amazing addition to your current beauty regimen. They are a weightless, semi-permanent beauty enrichment that is shaped like a natural eyelash. Each extension is individually applied to each natural eyelash and they are available in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls. The extensions are applied with a non-toxic, hypoallergenic, medical-grade adhesive. The human eyelash is constantly going through a lash shedding cycle. Most people will lose between 3-5 natural eyelashes per day from each eye whether they notice it or not. The Eyelash Extension process allows for this natural cycle to continue by placing each extension on one individual natural lash. When the client's natural lash sheds out (in order to prepare for new lash growth), the eyelash extension will be attached to the natural lash. Eyelash extensions are a great way to lengthen and thicken your natural lashes.
Will Eyelash Extensions Damage My Natural Lashes?
No. Eyelash Extensions will not damage your natural lashes. However, having an inexperienced technician apply eyelash extensions in extreme lengths and thicknesses can cause permanent damage. There are a variety of Eyelash Extension techniques available that will provide clients with the dramatic look they may want without jeopardizing the health of their natural lashes. At Couture Lash, we only have highly qualified technicians that are all licensed in the field of Esthetics. Couture Lash wants clients to love their lashes indefinitely and this means using ethically responsible techniques and always putting the health of the client's lashes first. We will custom design your lash look and make sure you are satisfied with your lashes and that they are a healthy addition to your beauty routine.
How Long Will My Eyelash Extensions Last?
How long the extensions last depends greatly on how the client cares for them at home. Following all of the Aftercare Instructions will insure that you will still have at least 40% of your original extensions attached when you show up for your touch-up. It is normal to lose 3-5 natural lashes per eye, per day. When the natural lashes shed out, so will the extensions that are attached. As the extensions begin to shed 1-2 weeks after a touch-up, the client will notice the inner and outer lashes shedding first. At the 2-3 week point after a touch-up, the client will notice that more extensions have shed from the inner and outer corners and from the middle of the lash fan. As the lashes grow out, they will naturally turn and twist causing the extensions to look less attractive. Couture Lash recommends scheduling a touch-up no longer than 3 weeks from your last Touch-Up. This keeps your lashes looking on point, which is what every girl wants! Touch-up appointments will need to be scheduled no longer than 4 weeks from your last touch-up. Any touch-ups that are past the four week mark will be considered a full-set and will be charged accordingly.
What Should I Expect From My Lash Appointment?
Couture Lash wants every appointment to be as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Most of our clients fall asleep during their appointment. We have soft, comfortable facial beds that our clients get to lay down on while our technicians make sure the neck and head are in a stable position to apply the extensions.
How Should I Prepare For My Appointment?
Please download the Couture Lash Consent form here and bring a printed, filled out copy with you to your appointment. In order to maximize the eyelash extension appointment, please arrive without eye makeup on. Couture Lash asks that clients refrain from wearing waterproof mascara for at least 2 days prior to your appointment. It is suggested that clients try to limit their caffeine consumption before their appointment to prevent involuntary eye movement during the application process. Clients will also want to shower before the appointment because the lashes can not become wet within 24 hours of the application.
If I Am Use To Wearing Clusters/Individuals/Strip Lashes, Will My Extensions Look Like That?
No. The clusters/individuals/strip lashes give the appearance of thicker, fuller artificial looking lashes. Unfortunately, the long-term use of these products can lead to a condition called Traction Alopecia which is when your lashes are permanently damaged and won't grow back. Eyelash Extensions are not a fake looking product and often times other people can't figure out by looking at them how they are even applied. With strips and clusters, it is always obvious what you are wearing. If you are new to Eyelash Extensions and have been wearing other types of artificial lashes, you will want to schedule a brief consultation with Couture Lash in order to determine if you are a good candidate for the extensions. If you are wanting the fullest look possible for your lashes, you may want to have a full-set of Volume Lashes applied (2-5 lighter weight extensions applied to each natural lash).
What Is The Cancellation/No Show Fee?
Couture Lash takes their technician's time seriously. If you can't make it to your scheduled appointment, we ask that you cancel as soon as possible. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, or decide to no-show for ANY reason, Couture Lash reserves the right to charge the credit card on file a non-refundable $50 cancellation/no-show fee. If you need to cancel prior to the 24 hour cut off, you may do so through our scheduling software.
